Come Grow in Grace with us!
Growing in Grace is a new small group program here on the North Coast. It is designed to address our shared need to think about, discuss, and engage with our faith within our church community. This need is especially crucial in today’s social and political climate, which often features strong opposition and toxic exchanges. In the church, we have a unique opportunity to unite in the love of Jesus Christ, regardless of our differences.
So how does Growing in Grace, one of our community groups, work?
We meet in small groups of up to 10 people once a week, either online or in person. Usually, the leader sends out a discussion topic a few days in advance, allowing everyone to come prepared.
Examples of questions we’ve explored include:
"How can I make better decisions in my life?"
"How can I make my faith known to others?"
"How do I know that God loves me as I am, and what does that mean for my actions?"
We always begin and end our meetings with a prayer. The leader aims to provide insights based on their own life and faith experiences. Then, each person takes turns responding to the question. We’re not here to fix one another; there are no right or wrong answers. Our goal is for everyone to listen attentively and keep an open mind while others speak. After everyone has shared, the leader may summarize some of the key ideas discussed in the group. The meeting concludes with another prayer.
Bible Studies
In addition to our small group programs, we hold Bible studies on Wednesdays at 11:45 AM, focusing on various topics and preparing for upcoming worship scriptures. Join us Thursdays at 4:00 PM on Zoom for further study.

The Missions Group organizes service projects, funds mission teams, and supports local organizations, including community groups like Food for People, the Rescue Mission Women’s Shelter, and the Betty Chin Day Center. We also support Waterfront Recovery, Tri-County Independent Living, the Salvation Army, and others. Additionally, our small group programs participate in the Angel Tree program during Christmas to assist children with incarcerated parents.

We rehearse once a week for about an hour and a half, currently on Wednesday afternoons at 3:30 in Christie Hall. We are always excited to welcome new ringers into our community groups, so if you have a passion for handbells, enjoy music, or are looking for small group programs, why not join us? Our Praise Band welcomes anyone who wants to perform musically, whether vocally, instrumentally, or both. They practice from 6:00pm - 7:00pm in our sanctuary and sing at our weekly Sunday service. In addition, we encourage participation in our community groups and small group programs, which often include Bible studies that enrich our musical offerings. We gather for our community groups on the 3rd Thursday of every month in Fellowship Hall at 6:30 in the evening. These Bible studies typically last an hour and are part of our small group programs designed to foster connection and growth.
